DRDO signs MoU with HAL for Uttam radar and DRWR-for Tejas Mk1A

An MoU has been exchanged between DRDO and HAL to cooperate and finalize the aspects of the Transfer of Technology of Uttam radar and the new generation Digital Radar Warning Receiver (DRWR) for upcoming Tejas Mk1A configurations that were recently ordered by IAF. Updated DRWR is one of the key requirements of the Tejas Mk1A and according to DRDO one unit of the new DRWR has been manufactured.DRWR uses high-speed digital hardware and advanced signal processing techniques for reliable signal detection and threat identification. DRWR has been installed on Netra AWACS and has been flight evaluated and will be replacing the present 4th generation RWR system installed on the Tejas Mk1 fighter jet.
