HQ IDS TO Organise India’s Biggest Tri-Service Seminar – “Ran Samwad-2025” at Mhow

Technological advancements are leading to a change in the character in terms of their operational planning, tactics and strategies. To discuss this and the nature of war. This is causing a parallel effect on the practitioners of war transition, a first of its kind Tri-Services Seminar Ran Samwad – Conversations on War, Warfare and Warfighting’ is being held on 26-27 Aug 2025 at Army War College, Mhow.

Ran Samwad is different from all other seminars, even service-related ones, as there the participants are generally the veterans and some service personnel. In Ran Samwad, all participants are the actual practitioners of war, people whose primary job is to fight and defend the country. Scholar warriors who need to be aware of the transformations taking place in War, Warfare and Warfighting that will impact future wars that they fight and hence the need for them to decide the changes needed to equipment, tactics, organisational structures, training, operational art and strategies for the future. It will be an annual affair.

“Ran Samwad-2025′ will focus on the Impact of Technology on Warfare’ with two sub-themes :-

Sub-theme I: Emerging Technologies & Impact on Futures Warfare.

Sub-theme II: Reforms in Institutionalised Training to Catalyse Technological Enablement.

The audience at Ran Samwad-2025 would be Government functionaries to include the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Defence Secretary, Secretary DRDO, veterans, serving officers from the three services, the CAPFs, defence experts, academic researchers, industry representatives and foreign Defence Attaches.

Ran Samwad-2025 focuses on domestic participation in terms of speakers. The future editions will have participation by speakers from like minded friendly foreign countries s we can share our insights comprehensivelv India needs to lead the strategic debate on future war – we were Vishwagurus once and we need to reclaim that spot.
