Captain Ankit Gupta of 10 Para (SF) Drowned in a Lake near Jodhpur

A captain of Indian Army elite 10 Para Special Forces unit has unfortunately lost his life while practising specialist operations in the Kaylana lake near Jodhpur city of Rajasthan. The officer has been identified as Captain Ankit Gupta of 10 Para (SF), the Army’s specialised unit for desert warfare.

According to sources, Four soldiers jumped into the Kalyana lake from a helicopter as part of the training exercise. Three came out safely, but the fourth officer drowned in water.

According to local police, the Para 10 (SF) of Indian Army had been conducting the training exercise at the Kalyana Lake on outskirts of Jodhpur on Thursday afternoon.

28-year-old Captain Ankit Gupta, a resident of Gurugram, was married a month and a half ago on November 23. After marriage, he was able to stay with his wife very little and went out to complete his special training.
