IAF chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria inspects bases, advanced landing grounds in Ladakh
Indian Air Force (IAF) chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria visited bases and ALGs (advanced landing grounds) in Ladakh, sector including Thoise and Nyoma on Monday. The Chief of the Air Staff reviewed the status of deployments and interacted with personnel stationed in forward areas.
During his visit to Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO), Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria laid a wreath at the war memorial and paid a tribute to the fallen soldiers.
Since the conflict with China broke out in April-May of last year, the Indian Air Force chief has paid multiple visits to the conflict zone reviewing the operational preparedness of troops deployed in forward areas.
Soon after the rapid deployment was done, the Indian Air Force deployed its Garud special forces at the approach areas on the frontline to counter any possible airspace violations by the Chinese Air Force using its helicopters and fighter jets.
On Monday, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat also visited forward areas in Ladakh where he interacted with the personnel. The CDS also received a briefing regarding the situation from the 14 Corps (Fire and Fury Corps) Commander in Leh.
