Sons of Wanted Terrorist Among 11 Govt Employees Sacked

In a major development, Jammu and Kashmir government has sacked 11 government employees, including Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin’s two sons, for having links with terrorist groups or anti-national elements. Salahuddin is also the chief of United Jihad Council, an amalgamation of terror groups which has unleashed terror and bloodshed in Kashmir for last several years.
The designated government committee in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for scrutinising and recommending cases under Article 311 of the Constitution of India, in its 2nd and 4th meeting, recommended 03 and 08 cases respectively, for their dismissal from the government service.Advertisement
“We have been preparing a list of elements within J&K Govt who have had terror links and are in the garb of a government job helping terror groups with sensitive information and logistical support. The list of the sacked J&K employees is just a tip of the iceberg with more in the pipeline”, sources within J&K government told CNN-News18.
J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in a high-level security review meeting, earlier this year, had taken a strong view on radical elements working within the Jammu and Kashmir administration against the interest of the nation and ordered a strong background check by the J&K Police CID for all suspicious employees and also any new hirings for critical postings.Advertisement
The J&K Intelligence Chief Director General (CID) RR Swain, who is a 1991 batch IPS, has led the efforts to clean the system of radical elements who have been working closely to assist the terror groups in the valley.
Senior officials in the Jammu and Kashmir government, while speaking to CNN-News18, said that there will be no tolerance towards anti-national activities by government employees and a strong view has been taken of anti-India social media activities of some government employees as well.Advertisement
The three officials recommended for dismissal in the second meeting of the J&K Govt Committee pertain to an Orderly of ITI, Kupwara who was Over Ground Worker of terror outfit Lashkar e Tayibba. The said Govt official was providing information to the terrorists about the movement of security forces and abetting and harbouring terrorists to carry out terror activities in a clandestine manner.
Two Teachers both from Anantnag District have been found involved in ant-national activities including participating, supporting and propagating secessionist ideology of radical outfits Jamat-Islami (JeI) and Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM).Advertisement
The eight government employees recommended for dismissal in the fourth meeting of the Committee include two Constables of Jammu Kashmir Police who have supported terrorism from within the Police department and provided inside information to the terrorists apart from logistical support. One Constable, Abdul Rashid Shigan, has himself executed attacks on the security forces.
Kin of Hizbul Chief Sacked
Two sons of Most wanted terrorist and founder of terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen Syed Salahudin have been axed by the J&K government.
Syed Ahmad Shakeel and Shahid Yousuf, the two sons of Hizbul Mujahideen Chief were also involved in terror funding, as per CID of J&K Police. The NIA has tracked terror funding trails of both the persons who have been found involved in raising, receiving, collecting, and transferring funds through Hawala transaction for terror activities of Hizbul Mujahideen.
Yet another Govt employee with terror link is, Naaz Mhammad Allaie, an Orderly of the Health Department in J&K. As per J&K Police, he is an Over Ground Worker of Hizbul Mujahideen and has a history of direct involvement in terror activities. Two dreaded terrorists were harboured by him at his residence, sources indicate.
Two employees of Education Department of J&K government have also been terminated. Jabbar Ahmad Paray and Nisar Ahmad Tantray were actively involved in furthering the secessionst agenda unleashed by the sponsors from Pakistan and are Jamat-e-Islami ideologists.
In addition, Shaheen Ahmad Lone, an Inspector of the Power Department has been found involved in smuggling and transporting arms for the Hizbul Mujahideen. “He was found traveling with two terrorists on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway carrying arms, ammunitions and explosives in January last year”, sources in J&K Police tell CNN-News18.
Out of the 11 employees dismissed, 04 are from Anantnag, 03 from Budgam, 01 each from Baramulla, Srinagar, Pulwama and Kupwara. Out of these, 04 were working in the Education Department, 02 in Jammu Kashmir Poilice and 01 each in Agriculture, Skill Development, Power, SKIMS and Health Departments.
