TRF terrorist arrested with 5-kg IED in Jammu, terror attack foiled

Jammu Police have foiled a major terror attack by arresting a terrorist of “The Resistance Front” (TRF) with 5-kg improvised explosive device (IED) in Narwal area here in the city’s outskirts, officials said on Sunday. A senior police officer on Sunday said that the Special Operation Group team on Saturday evening have arrested a terrorist with explosives.

“The terrorist was arrested from near a prominent shopping mall with arms, ammunition and five-kg IED,” the officer said.

He said that a major terror plot in Jammu City has been averted with this timely arrest. “The terrorist was immediately whisked away to a safe house for sustained interrogation to ascertain whether their other contacts have also managed to sneak into Jammu or not,” he added.
