HAL to unveil HLFT-42 Fighter Trainer at Aero India 2023

The trainer aircraft will come with 4+ Gen characteristics which can be armed and can also be used in offensive operations. It will be a twin-seat, single-engine fighter trainer with 4+ gen characteristics.
As per HAL, it will showcase its full spectrum training capabilities and display for the first time, the scale model of HAL Lead-in Fighter Trainer (HLFT)-42.
The HLFT-42 is considered a Next Gen Supersonic Trainer (NGST) that will play a critical role in modern combat aircraft training.
It will come with state-of-the-art avionics like Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA), Electronic Warfare (EW) Suite, and Infrared Search and Track (IRST) with Fly by Wire control (FBW) system.
HAL will showcase its range of products/technologies centered on the theme ‘Innovate. Collaborate, Lead ‘ at the Aero India 2023.
